VANCOUVER MURAL FESTIVAL 2021

Mural Design and Install

With the West End being one of the most colourful neighborhoods of Vancouver, VMF along with Craft Beer Market commissioned me to contribute to that in the famous Pantages Lane. I chose to parallel the vibrancy by highlighting Vancouver’s renowned seasons and the adapting behavior of its inhabitants. The lane was named after Greek Immigrant Peter Pantages who inaugurated the famous polar bear swim, which in turn helped inform the mural’s name “Horae”, the Greek goddesses of the seasons. The intent behind framing each season was to bring individual focus, provide a more seamless integration of the art to the building’s design and create the opportunity for interactivity. The walls are sunken in creating perspective and the appearance of an art gallery, where people can have pictures taken of them posing on the bench or holding the leash of the dog.
